5 Easy Ways to Use Microgreens Every Day
Microgreens are one of the easiest ways to add fresh flavor and a real nutrition boost to food you already eat. You do not need a recipe. Here are five simple ways we use them at home.
1. On eggs and avocado toast
A handful of pea shoots or radish microgreens on scrambled eggs or avocado toast adds crunch, color, and a peppery bite. Add them right at the end so they stay fresh and crisp.
2. Piled on tacos and bowls
Swap tired lettuce for a generous pinch of spicy mix or sunflower on tacos, burrito bowls, and grain bowls. They hold up better than shredded greens and look great on the plate.
3. Blended into smoothies
Sunflower and broccoli microgreens blend right into a fruit smoothie without changing the flavor much, which is a sneaky way to get more greens into kids.
4. As a salad base or topper
Use them as the whole salad, or scatter arugula and mustard microgreens over a regular salad for extra flavor and nutrition. A little olive oil and lemon is all you need.
5. On sandwiches, pizza, and soup
Add them to sandwiches and wraps in place of sprouts, or drop a handful on top of a finished pizza or bowl of soup for a fresh, restaurant style finish.
